YACHT STYLE Issue 67 is the fifth of six issues in 2022 and has a special focus on Europe’s autumn boat shows including the Monaco Yacht Show, host to the world premiere of CRN’s colourful 62m Rio, the cover star of this edition and among its Reviews.
Other Reviews include the Absolute’s new 56 Fly, which was among the Italian builder’s two world premieres at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival and has a unit already in Hong Kong.
Bluegame’s BG54 and the Lagoon 51 sailing catamaran also feature in Reviews, having both debuted earlier this year before appearing at Cannes.
They’re also included in a special feature on the year’s new production and semi-production models. Most are debuting or displaying at Europe’s autumn boat shows, while some premiered at La Grande Motte or Venice. Others were revealed across the Atlantic in Miami and Palm Beach earlier in the year or will be at Fort Lauderdale in late October.
When gathered across a few pages, it’s amazing to see the variety of incredible new product on offer, whether it’s 40ft or 40m, a motor or sailing yacht, monohull or multihull.
Issue 67 also has strong personality and anniversary themes, as Aquila Brand Manager Alain Raas answers in Leader how the shipyard has risen to the top of the powercat market in its first decade.
With Sunreef celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, founder Francis Lapp explains in Shipyard how the Polish builder has pioneered the large luxury catamaran market while also becoming a forerunner in green tech.
Poland itself is the subject of a Country profile, as this remarkably active hub of mass-produced motorboats for both local and international brands is balanced by custom and semi-custom builders like Sunreef, Galeon and Conrad.
With Camper & Nicholsons celebrating its 240th anniversary, Senior Advisor Carmen Lau is the subject of Profile, outlining her remarkable journey in the superyacht industry that began in Hong Kong 18 years ago.
As easing of travel restrictions means charter in Southeast Asia is truly opening again, Yessi Sari and Kevin Corcoran talk in Owner about the 86ft Sequoia, which offers a stunning platform for up to six charter guests to explore Indonesia’s most beautiful scenery, above and below the water.
The Thailand Charter Week (November 16-19) highlights the best of Phuket-based offerings. Other events to look out for include the Lagoon Escapade Thailand (October 14-16) and the Beneteau Cup Hong Kong (October 29-30), while SailGP swings through Dubai in November and Singapore in January.
