Sunreef Yachts has shared the first photos of the solar-electric Sunreef 80 Eco under navigation, following the arrival of the Eco range’s first-ever sailing catamaran in Dubai. The world premiere of the model was scheduled to be held at the Dubai International Boat Show, but the yacht was unable to make it in time due to shipping delays.
The model has an overall length of 23.87m and a beam of 11.53m. The first hull has custom-designed four-cabin layout, a contemporary décor and a lot of emphasis on sports and entertainment. Like all models in Sunreef’s Eco range, the 80 Eco is fully autonomous and uses revolutionary green technology for fuel-free cruising in total silence and luxury.
The most notable sustainable technology is the ultralight composite-integrated solar panels built into the hull sides, mast, superstructure and bimini roof, with the curved solar panels making the Sunreef 80 Eco a pioneer in green yachting.
The yacht is also equipped with advanced electric engines and a hydro-generation system, providing a smooth ‘e-motoring’ experience and the ability to energy while under sail. Other features include a smart energy-management system, custom-engineered batteries and innovative air-conditioning, all designed for energy efficiency and sustainable cruising.
