Sanlorenzo Asia, represented by Simpson Marine, has secured the region’s first sale of the SP110, the 40-knot open coupe that debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival last month. The order for Asia is set for delivery in spring 2024.
Measuring 33.5m with an 8m beam, the SP110 is the first model from Sanlorenzo’s new Smart Performance (SP) series and can reach 40 knots with water jet propulsion powered by three 2,000hp MAN V12 engines.
The yacht offers a fractional propulsion system, so depending on conditions and needs, the boat can move using just one engine, a pair or all three, allowing reduced consumption at a wide range of speeds. Solar panels on the hard top supply power to run the hotel load.
Tilli Antonelli over saw product development of the SP110, Marco Arnaboldi handled hull design, while Bernardo Zuccon and Piero Lissoni designed the exterior and interiors respectively. The interior is distinguished by a two-level atrium-style interior, with both the lower and main saloons visible from the aft platform and beyond.
Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia Sales Manager, said: “We are delighted to have received the first order for this amazing new yacht by Sanlorenzo, which pushes the boundaries of design, performance and sustainability to the next level. It’s an incredibly powerful yacht that is at the same time elegant, light, nearly silent at high speeds, and provides incredibly smooth handling.
“We’ve witnessed how successful she was at the Cannes Yachting Festival, becoming one of the most iconic reveals of this season. The show was very successful for Sanlorenzo Asia, who assisted customers in selecting their own yachts from the Sanlorenzo collection. The sale of SP110 is tangible proof that Asian customers are ready for the next level in fast performance yachting.”
Sanlorenzo Asia’s recent sales also include Asia’s first SX100 – a model set to set in 2023 – and another hull of the SD118, which had its world premiere at last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
Briefly announced at last month’s Cannes Yachting Festival, the SX100 joins the successful SX crossover range, which also includes the SX76, SX88 and SX112. Early this summer, units of all three models were delivered to Hong Kong, while further orders for the SX76 and SX88 are due in Asia later this year.
The upcoming SX100 features many of the options available on the range’s flagship model including the signature fold-down terraces and a huge lower-deck lounge. The hull for Asia will be delivered in April 2024, with the owner working with Sanlorenzo’s designers on a bespoke interior.
“It’s rewarding to witness the remarkable growth of the SX range and its rapid expansion in Asia,” Stratton said. “Sanlorenzo’s low production numbers ensure unique builds and ample customisation options, which strongly appeals to owners seeking to purchase a special yacht that reflects their own tastes and living philosophy. This new SX100 is no different and is sure to be another stunning bespoke Sanlorenzo build.”
Asia’s latest sale of the SD118, from the builder’s semi-displacement line, joins earlier orders of the model in the region, which began after its world premiere at Cannes last year. The new sale is to Southeast Asia, which already features many large Sanlorenzo models including the SD118, SD126 and 44.5m Alloy.
The SD118 has a volume of 290GT, is available with either twin 1,622hp Cat or 1,450hp MAN engines, and has proved another success model for Sanlorenzo, with the next delivery only available in 2025.
Meanwhile, a new Sanlorenzo SL86 en route to Asia has become available for sale. The SL86 planing model features Roda and Minotti furniture, and can accommodate eight guests in four cabins and three crew.
