NextWave Yachting, Lodestone Yachts and Marine Service Asia have opened offices at Lantau Yacht Club’s Service Yard to provide services including yacht care, maintenance and management. LYC’s superyacht-friendly marina soft opened in August 2020, the refurbished clubhouse opened in April 2021, and the increasingly busy Service Yard is another key aspect of the Discovery Bay facility.
Adjacent to the marina, the Service Yard is a one-stop service area equipped with a hardstand, travel lift and forklift for haul-out services, dry stack and storage lockers. The yard is also supported by a diesel fuel gas station nearby, while the contractors shelf supplies in their offices, so captains and crew no longer need to travel downtown for essentials.
Ivan Lee, Vice President of Lantau Yacht Club, said: “With Lodestone Yachts, Marine Service Asia and Next Wave opening their offices at our Service Yard, LYC is the first yacht club in Hong Kong to have such a range of service providers stationing onsite. Together we offer yacht owners strong expertise and comprehensive yacht services, and are proud to gradually make LYC a superyacht hub and yachting activity centre in Hong Kong.
“With yacht industry experts and partners gradually forming a network here, LYC is looking forward to more collaborations. It’s our aim to build a yachting community to promote a premium yachting lifestyle for enthusiasts. More exclusive programmes for members, boat shows, and events are in the pipeline.”
NextWave Yachting is one of Hong Kong’s largest yacht-service companies and expanded its portfolio of brands last year when they began representing Sunseeker in addition to Sealine, Chris-Craft and Vanquish. Its yacht management team offers a range of services including document of compliance certification and commercial maritime operations, as well as water toys such as IAQUA, Jetsurf, inflatable pools and slides.
Howard Chen, co-founder of NextWave Yachting, said: “We hope owners can make the most of simply enjoying their yacht the way it’s intended, and leave all the logistics and administrative work to us.”
Lodestone Yachts, headed by Director Joe Yuen, offers yacht management services for yachts of all sizes including superyachts, while Marine Service Asia (MSA) provides marine technical support, ranging from commissioning or inspections stages to all aspects of yacht maintenance oversight.
Mathew Keay, General Manager of MSA, said: “With the establishment of LYC, we identified a need for industry-leading technology products and services to support the yachts. Our experienced engineers are ready to offer the best services to customers.”
