Lürssen and the Ahoy Club are co-presenting Coral Ocean at the 63rd Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 26-30), with the 73m superyacht fresh from a three-year refit. Designed by the late Jon Bannenberg and originally known as Coral Island, the yacht was one of the shipyard’s largest projects at the time of her launch in 1994 and is “one of the most iconic Lürssen superyachts ever built”, according to the German builder.
Following a change of ownership in 2019, Coral Ocean underwent an extensive refit that was completed this year ahead of her showcase at the five-day Fort Lauderdale show. “Together with the Ahoy Club, Lürssen is pleased to present a yacht that is in such exceptionally good condition, proof that a quality yacht can retain its value even after so many years,” Lürssen stated.
At Lürssen’s stand in the Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South, the shipyard is also providing updates about innovative topics such as Fuel Cell Technology. On display will be a unique model explaining how a fuel cell works, powered by hydrogen reformed by methanol.
