YACHT STYLE’s final edition of 2022 is the annual ‘Superyacht Issue’. The cover star, the Sanlorenzo SP110, premiered at Cannes, showed at Genoa and had its US debut at Fort Lauderdale, while Simpson Marine has already secured a sale to Asia. The triple-waterjet, ‘smart performance’ sports yacht features a fractional propulsion and atrium-style interior, and is among this issue’s Reviews.
The magazine kicks off with the 2023 edition of YACHT STYLE’s annual special feature, Top 100 Superyachts of Asia-Pacific, which is particularly notable this year as the top 10 in the updated list are all over 100m. Builds by Lürssen, Fincantieri, Blohm & Voss, Kleven and Benetti top the new list of superyachts cruising Asia-Pacific waters.
With Asia’s superyacht market remaining lively post Covid, we talk with HSBC Global Private Banking about how it continues to help clients realise their dreams by financing remarkable new projects.
In Leader, Mohammed Alshaali looks back on 40 years of Gulf Craft, from a start-up in 1982 to one of the world leaders in composite yacht production, building yachts across four series and now adding a Majesty 160 superyacht to the Majesty 175 it delivered last year.
As Paul Blanc reveals in Interview, Jeanneau is also moving forward, introducing a hugely successful DB/43 luxury dayboat, its biggest Merry Fisher and a new sailing flagship, while the eye-catching design of the Jeanneau Yachts 55 set to debut at Boot Dusseldorf in January 2023 shows that the spirit of innovation is ongoing.
Reviews this issue include the Benetti B.Now 50M, which debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show and has already been described as the most popular 50m model in history due to its extraordinary order book.
Reviews also include the Prestige X60, the smaller sister of the groundbreaking X70, yet surprisingly different in terms of layout. Following in the footsteps of her elder, the X60 is expected to arrive in this region in 2023 through Asia Yachting.
Meanwhile, the Excess 14 is the newest model from the young Groupe Beneteau brand determined to instil the ‘sensation’ of sailing into its catamarans, while creating bright, flexible interiors designed to appeal to a younger, sportier audience.
