The Sunreef 80 Eco in Dubai

Sunreef Yachts is exhibiting the all-electric Sunreef 80 Eco sailing catamaran to this year’s Dubai International Boat Show (March 1-5) along with a 60 Sunreef Power, one of the shipyard’s top powercat models. The Middle East’s leading boat show will be held for a second year at Dubai Harbour, with the Sunreef models on display at stand MD-49.

Launched in northern Poland early last year, the first Sunreef 80 Eco, Marie-Joseph (click for Review), is “the world’s most advanced green luxury yacht”, according to the shipyard. It features a revolutionary composite-integrated solar-power system, with cells built into the catamaran’s hulls, superstructure, bimini and mast, while it’s also able to generate green energy while under sail due to a hydrogeneration system.

The 80 Eco is Sunreef’s first Eco sailing cat

The 80 Eco, which spent time in Dubai last year, is the first sailing catamaran from Sunreef’s Eco series and had its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival last September before also being displayed at the superyacht-focused Monaco Yacht Show.

The 60 Sunreef Power is part of the builder’s modern range of powercats, which also include the 70 Sunreef Power, 80 Sunreef Power and 100 Sunreef Power, as well as the upcoming 55 Open Power. The 60 Sunreef Power, which was launched in 2020, has a length of 60ft and a large beam of 35ft, and can accommodate up to 12 guests, with a wide range of layouts available for all three decks.

A 60 Sunreef Power will join the 80 Eco in Dubai

Sunreef, which is represented in Singapore by Hong Seh Marine (click for article), builds its catamarans in two sites in Gdansk on Poland’s north coast and is currently developing a new production facility in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, where it has its main Middle East office in Dubai.

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the organiser of the Dubai International Boat Show, expects about 150 boats, 800 brands and companies, and about 30,000 visitors for this year’s five-day event. The show is open from 3-8pm on March 1, 2 and 5, and from 3-9pm on March 3 and 4 (Friday and Saturday).
