Prestige staged the world premiere of its much-anticipated X70 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 28-November 1), having previously shown the model privately at the builder’s Exclusive Days events in Monaco and Cannes.

The X70 is Prestige’s new flagship and the start of a new X-Line distinct from the French brand’s complementary F-Line flybridge and S-Line sportfly ranges.

The beach club features a big swim platform and drop-down lounge sofa

Created with Italy’s Garroni Design, the X70 has several distinctive features, most notably an absence of side decks, so the saloon with central galley is full width. According to Prestige, the design enables the X70’s interior to use about 90 per cent of its 17ft 6in beam instead of roughly 70 per cent.

The interior of the 71ft 7in motor yacht also starts further forward than usual due to the extended space given to the huge infinity cockpit, which is mostly shaded by the flybridge and can be completely covered with a retractable awning.

The extra-long cockpit has sofas facing a large central lounger and space for a dining table

The cockpit features fixed sofas on both sides, while the central area can include loose furniture, sun loungers and a dining table. Hull one features an adjustable aft-facing lounger that offers great views, while a dining table leads to the saloon.

Duvivier sofas and Foglizzo leather feature in the upgraded interior, where the saloon layouts include an L-shaped sofa to port and either another sofa – as on hull one – or a dining table to starboard. Both sides feature electric opening windows.

The saloon is full width, enjoying the space usually allocated to side decks

Forward is a central galley before steps lead up to the helm station, which has corner seating to starboard. Starboard of the galley and helm station is a side door that leads either to the foredeck – a flat area with optional lounge pads – or aft to stairs to the flybridge.

The flybridge can be open or enclosed, where the vertical windshield and the main-deck’s reverse windshield contribute to the explorer looks.

The flybridge has four sets of stairs – two to the foredeck and two aft to the cockpit – and an open aft area that can feature modular sun loungers. The hardtop with sunroof covers an entertainment galley, portside dining table for six to eight people, twin-seat helm station and a large L-shaped sofa to starboard.

The master suite is in the bow, with a forward-facing double bed and private staircase. The full-beam VIP is midships, with the option of another full-beam double or two twins forward. The stern can accommodate a full crew cabin.

The Prestige X70 has the option of three or four guest cabins

The attractive beach club includes a large swim platform and a fold-down lounging area, as well as an outdoor shower. The X70 uses Volvo IPS, for easier handling and manoeuvring, while owners have the choice of Volvo Penta IPS1200 or IPS1350 engines.
