The interior has an aft galley and dining area, a slightly raised saloon forward and a private stairway to the master suite in the bow. Aside from the master, the lower deck can accommodate two more full-beam double guest cabins or a full-beam double and two twins. Volvo IPS 1200 and IPS 1350 engine systems are available, with the Seakeeper 18 gyroscopic stabiliser system an option. Look out for a full Review in a coming issue of Yacht Style.
Beneteau has three world premieres in September comprising the Gran Turismo 45 and its flagship Grand Trawler 62 in Cannes, plus the Antares 8 at the Southampton International Boat Show (September 10- 19). The GT45 is the flagship of the builder’s express cruiser range, with an Air Step® hull powered by twin 380hp or 440hp Volvo D6 inboards.
Aft is a large, hydraulically-controlled bathing platform and a sunpad concealing a flip-up electric grill and the tender garage underneath. The foredeck has an integrated sunpad with optional features such as flip-up headrests, canopy and courtesy lights.
The redesigned superstructure features much larger side windows, with the starboard side electric window hinging up into the hardtop, which has an electric sunroof and optional glass panel. The cockpit has a C-shaped lounge facing the wet bar and retractable TV, while a patio door is optional.
The lower deck features the galley to port and a dinette to starboard, in an area that can be used as a third guest cabin. The master suite is midships, while the forward VIP has scissor berths.
Beneteau’s most exciting new model is the Grand Trawler 62, which has an almost 18ft beam and is the first model in a new range that has evolved from the smaller Swift Trawler line (35-50). At a cruising speed of nine knots, the model has a cruising range of 900nm with 10 per cent fuel reserve, due to her full displacement hull specially designed by MICAD for efficiency.
The yacht’s features include a 330sqft flybridge featuring a C-shaped sofa, forward sofa and sunpad, twin-seat helm, wet bar and aft space for sun loungers or a tender crane. The foredeck has a long double sunpad fronted by a sofa. The aft cockpit has an L-shaped sofa facing the clear balustrade, with steps either side down to a high-low swim platform.
The interior by Nauta Design features an aft saloon before two steps lead up to a dining area opposite a galley that can be enclosed, while forward is a raised helm station. Lower-deck layout options include three or four guest cabins, each with an average headroom of 2m. A full Review will feature in an upcoming Yacht Style.
The new Antares 8 is offered in Cruiser and Fishing versions and complements the 7, 9 and 11 models in the weekender range. The Antares 8 (Yachts, Issue 61) features a starboard side gate and provides room for up to nine passengers and accommodation for five in a double cabin forward, single berth midships and the converted saloon dinette.
The cockpit has multiple seating and table configurations with storage underneath, the foredeck has a sunbathing area, while the roof rack can store kayaks, paddleboards or bikes. The saloon features a dinette with a fixed aft seat and a forward bench seat with adjustable backrest. To starboard is the galley and a swivelling helmsman’s seat facing an optional 12-inch control panel.
Jeanneau’s new models are all in the smaller range and include the Serie 2 version of the Merry Fisher 795 Sport by the Centkowski & Denert Design Studio.
The aft and forward cockpits can be converted into a variety of set-ups with sofas and tables. The saloon has a single helm seat to starboard and can feature an aft sofa, flexible facing seat and access by two side doors.
Alternatively, the interior can feature an aft sliding door, one or two side doors and three forward-facing seats. The single outboard engine options range from 150hp-250hp.
Jeanneau has also upgraded two models from its popular Cap Camarat range, which has produced over 20,000 boats. At Cannes, the builder is staging the premieres of the Serie 3 versions of the 7.5 WA (Walk Around) and 7.5 CC (Centre Console), both collaborations between Michael Peters Yacht Design and Sarrazin Design.
Both 24ft 2in models have the option of a T-Top and feature an aft cockpit with a C-sided sofa around a table. The 7.5 WA Serie 3 has a new optional outdoor galley, while its raised foredeck has an adjustable backrest. The forward cabin has two large hull windows, a double berth and separate head.
The 7.5 CC Serie 3 also has the exterior galley option, while the forward cockpit has bench seating and can be converted into a sundeck. Down below, the furnished interior can be converted to a double berth.
