Fraser CEO Raphael Sauleau has revealed that following a boom across all aspects of the superyacht industry last year, charter demand has risen to record levels in 2022.
“We’re seeing even more enthusiasm for getting out on the water this year, both from existing clients and newcomers,” Sauleau said. “As the data shows, charter bookings have surged across almost every size range, especially in the 50-60m ‘sweet spot’.”
In Fraser’s managed charter fleet, bookings were up by 87% on 2021. Sauleau also said more owners are realising the importance of professional yacht management, with Fraser’s managed fleet increasing by 93% in the last five years to well over 100 yachts.
This year, Fraser’s Charter Brokers have placed 15% more bookings compared to the record-breaking 2021. And in terms of destinations, this year’s top five most in-demand are, at the time of writing, the French Riviera followed by the Amalfi Coast, Croatia, Greece and the Bahamas.
Meanwhile, both North America and the Caribbean have increased by 100-200% as Americans enjoy the stunning regions in their ‘back yard’ and more discover yachting. And interestingly, clients are spending 86% longer on board than they did pre-Covid.
