The total asking price of all superyachts sold in Q1 was €1,200 million (about US$1,260 million), the highest figure for the January-March period since records began, Fraser announced in its latest contribution to Yacht Style (Issue 65).
Raphael Sauleau, CEO of Fraser, said: “Although the world is living through uncertain times, it’s positive to see that yacht sales and charters in the first quarter of this year were up on the same period a year ago.
“Although the total number of yachts sold is a little lower than it was in 2021 for the same period (158 in 2022 compared to 205 in 2021), the average asking price has jumped sharply – by almost €2 million per yacht.
Fraser also revealed that charter increased compared to 2021 as travel restrictions eased in popular charter locations. In Q1, Fraser’s own charter retail brokers signed 74% more charters than they did in Q1 of 2021 and charter management fleet bookings rocketed by 160%.
