The Phantom 65 launches a new Fairline series

Fairline has scheduled a June launch for its first Phantom 65, the first model from the British builder’s new sportbridge line. Reviving the name of a former Fairline range, Phantom fits between the Squadron flybridge motor yachts and the Targa cruisers, and is Fairline’s second new series in three years, following the introduction of the F//Line 33 in 2019.

Scheduled to premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, the Phantom 65 shares the same technical platform as the Targa 65 but with a new deck and superstructure including flowing lines that encompass a low-set sportbridge.

The sportbridge offers forward and aft lounging areas

Paul Grys, CEO of Fairline, said: “We are pleased to present our first sportbridge model, offering the enhanced space of a flybridge with the sportiness of our Targa models. The Phantom name has long been synonymous with Fairline and while we’ve kept the name, that’s where the similarities end.

“The Phantom 65 is an all-new sportbridge yacht, elegant, dynamic, clean and unfussy in its design, while offering the handling and performance Fairline always delivers.”

The interior features an aft galley and raised saloon

The sportbridge is accessed by port stairs from the cockpit and features an L-shaped sofa and a table aft, a wet bar and a forward C-shaped sofa to starboard, and two helm seats to starboard, set behind a sleek windscreen.

The aft platform accesses a tender garage that can fit a Williams SportJet 345, while the cockpit features a large central sunpad and an L-shaped sofa to starboard. The interior starts with a galley to port opposite a C-shaped dining area, while forward is a raised saloon, with another C-shaped sofa and a coffee table to port, facing a two-seat sofa set aft of two helm seats.

The saloon benefits from big windows and a sunroof

The lower deck is available with three or four cabins. The master cabin midships has a king-sized bed, dedicated bureau with drawer storage to starboard and a large sofa to port, while aft is a dressing area and the bathroom.

To starboard, the en-suite guest cabin has single berths that can electrically slide together to become a double. The VIP cabin in the bow has an en-suite bathroom to port that it shares with the bunk cabin to port in the four-cabin version. In the three-cabin version, there’s a communal bathroom to port.

The master suite is among three or four guest cabins

Available from £2,050,000 (about US$2,760,000) excluding VAT, the Phantom 65 can be fitted with either twin 1,150mhp Caterpillar C18 engines for a top speed of 31 knots or 1,622mhp Caterpillar C32 V12s expected to power the yacht over 35 knots.
