With the new collaboration, Burgess aims to better serve its existing clients and build new relationships in India, while enhancing its Indian Ocean charter offering around India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Jean-Marc Poullet, Burgess’ Chairman Asia, said: “We are delighted to welcome two highly qualified Indian yachting professionals to the global Burgess family. Gautama and Anju bring strong yachting and technical experience, plus outstanding local market knowledge to the Burgess team. They will work closely with the rest of the Asia team while also leveraging Burgess’ global expertise to deliver the best-possible service to India and Indian Ocean yacht owners and charterers.”

A new addition to Asia’s Yachting Leaders, Gautama Dutta is Burgess’ Chief representative, India

Gautama, Marine Solutions’ Executive Director, is a former Asian medallist in sailing and a round-the-world yachtsman, and holds the high-altitude sailing world record for his exploits at 5,480m on Lake Deotal. He also commissioned and ran India’s Olympic Sailing Centre at Bombay.

One of India’s prominent yachting personalities, Gautama is a founding member of the India Marine Federation and hugely knowledgeable about boating in the India-Sri Lanka-Maldives region. In addition to being Chief Representative, he will also take the lead on all charter developments for Burgess in the region.

Anju is Managing Director of Marine Solutions and spearheads the company’s sales and marketing division. She has transacted most of the 15-34m yachts sold in India and advises clients on all aspects of the ownership lifecycle. A business management graduate, Anju has experience in the advertising industry. In addition to being the Brokerage Representative, Anju will also spearhead marketing initiatives for Burgess in the region.

Gautama said: “We are very happy to join the Burgess family, whose high standard of professionalism and a global-cum-local approach to customer relationships and service delivery perfectly matches our philosophy. We look forward to bringing this world-class yachting platform to the region and to connect the global yacht charter network with the fabulous cruising destinations in India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.”
