A Bluegame BGX70 is scheduled to arrive in Singapore in December as Simpson Marine widens the family of ‘X’ range models from sister brands Sanlorenzo and Bluegame in the city. A Sanlorenzo SX76 has also been ordered for potential delivery in Singapore in early 2022.
Both models follow in the footsteps of a Sanlorenzo SX88 in Singapore, which is the first SX yacht in Southeast Asia and has been well used around Southeast Asia by its owner since it arrived in 2019, having first been used in the Mediterranean.
The SX88, which is not for sale, is currently being displayed in ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove in front of the Simpson Marine and Sanlorenzo Asia offices. Simpson Marine represents both Sanlorenzo and Bluegame in Asia.
Launched at the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival, the SX88 was the first model in Sanlorenzo’s SX crossover series and was followed by the SX76 (2018) and SX112 (2021). Elements of the SX design, most specifically its huge aft platform, have been incorporated into Bluegame’s BGX70 and BGX60 models released in 2019 and late 2020 respectively.
The first BGX70 in Asia arrived in Hong Kong last year and multiple units have since been sold along with a BGX60 and other Bluegame models by Simpson Marine.
Julien Solari, Simpson Marine’s Country Manager for Singapore, expects the demand for the Bluegame brand to increase in Singapore once more people can see the BGX70, which will initially be kept at ONE°15 Marina.
“I am expecting the BGX70 to also be popular in Singapore and we’ve already had early interest for this stock model,” Solari said. “It helps that more people are now seeing the SX88 in front of the Sanlorenzo Asia office, so people can be reminded how innovative this crossover concept is.”
Solari says the initial ideas for the SX series began as far back as 2013 as Sanlorenzo looked to create a range for a new generation of owners. Major features for the flybridge motor yacht sector included a huge aft platform that can fit a tender and multiple water toys, as well as a crane integrated into the port bulwark.
The aft cockpit has a clear aft balustrade and an open design designed for modular furniture to face the swim platform and sea. Inside, the forward area on the main deck benefits from the extra space created by not having a helm station.
The yacht features its sole helm station on the flybridge, which has opening windows on both sides and can be completely enclosed and air-conditioned. Furthermore, Sanlorenzo can offer customised interiors on all its Yacht ranges as it does on its Superyacht series, while Bluegame offers multiple options for layouts, materials and décor on all models.
