Azimut has presented the new 53 from its Flybridge Collection in a 15-minute video presentation hosted by Justin Ratcliffe. The video includes interviews with exterior designer Alberto Mancini and Federico Lantero, Azimut-Benetti’s Product Marketing Director, who discusses the interiors by the shipyard.
The new model has an overall length of 55ft 1in (16.78m), a beam of 16ft 3in (4.95m) and a sleek profile by Mancini, whose other Azimut designs include the 78 Flybridge, S8, Grande S10 and new flagship Grande Trideck.
The flybridge has a three-sided seating area and an adjustable table aft, twin-seat helm to port and wet bar to starboard, and a large sunbathing area forward. The foredeck has a sofa and adjustable triple sunpad.
The aft cockpit has only one stairway to the swim platform, to starboard, which frees up room for a large L-shaped sofa to port. The platform has portside access to the transom, which can be configured as a crew cabin, storage cabin or fitted with a bar unit with icemaker and bottle chillers.
The split-level interior starts with an aft galley before two steps up a 25cm rise lead to the saloon and helm station to starboard. The side windows are clear of uprights from beside the entrance to the windscreen.
The master stateroom midships offers a predominantly full-height space, with a walk-in wardrobe, a second storage column and half-height units along the hull side, plus additional space under the bed.
The lobby has space for a washer-dryer plus storage space, there’s a twin cabin to starboard, while the forward VIP benefits from the bow shape, with more storage space and distance between the bed and bulkhead than the market average.
The yacht features Volvo’s IPS propulsion system, which reduces the size of the engine room and increases space for the lower-deck accommodation. The yacht has a top speed up to 31 knots and a cruising speed up to 27 with twin 725hp IPS950 engines.Azimut is represented in Hong Kong, Macau, southern China, Taiwan and Singapore by Marine Italia.
