Azimut is set to show nine models at the 62nd Genoa International Boat Show (Salone Nautico) from September 22-27. The Italian shipyard’s display is headlined by the Grande 26 Metri, a recent world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival earlier this month.
The other yachts comprise the new Magellano 66, released earlier this year, an S6 and S8 from the sportbridge range, the 50, 53 and 60 flybridge models, and the Atlantis 45.
The new Grande 26 Metri debuted at Cannes with the Grande 36 Metri and both new superyachts feature exterior design by Alberto Mancini and interiors by Achille Salvagni.
The Grande 26 Metri’s standout features include the new Deck2Deck™ Terrace, in which the transom door folds up to main-deck level to extend the size of the cockpit, which can be used as a lounge space or a dining area with a walkaround table. The yacht also has five cabins including a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck and separate flows for guests and crew, who have quarters located in the bow.
The Grande 26 Metri is the first Azimut superyacht to feature the new Pod 4600 propulsion system developed in partnership with ZF. The system combines with a 30 per cent lighter superstructure, achieved through the extensive use of carbon-fibre, to deliver 20 per cent lower fuel consumption than boats the same size at the most frequently set speeds.
As a result, Grande 26 Metri is one of Azimut’s Low Emission Yachts, which is determined by using 20 less fuel than yachts of a similar size and now applies to half the models in the brand’s portfolio.
Marine Italia, which represents Azimut in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong, Taiwan and Singapore, has already sold a unit of the Grande 26 Metri, which is expected to arrive in Hong Kong in 2023.
