Aquila is staging the global debut of its 42 Yacht at this year’s Miami International Boat Show (February 15-19) as part of a six-powercat display including a 28 Molokai, 32 Sport, 36 Sport, 44 Yacht and 54 Yacht.
Alain Raas, Aquila’s Brand Manager, said: “Whether it be fishing, entertaining or cruising, there’s an Aquila to suit every need, globally. We invite visitors to stop by the Aquila display to meet with our qualified team of sales professionals to learn why Aquila is the No. 1 power catamaran manufacturer in the world.”
VPLP designed the Aquila 42 Yacht
Designed by French studio VPLP, the Aquila 42 Yacht has an overall length of 41ft 6in and a 21ft beam, so is 3ft 5in shorter and 6in thinner than the hugely popular 44 Yacht. The 42 Yacht can be powered by either two 230hp or 300hp Volvo Penta D4 inboard engines.
The aft cockpit features a wide sofa and a table, and a bar connected to the open aft galley, like on the 44 Yacht, while the saloon is forward and features a C-shaped sofa to starboard.
The flybridge has extensive seating
Starboard stairs from the cockpit lead to the flybridge, which has a central bench-seat helm station ahead of a wet bar, plus a huge L-shaped sofa that runs along the aft and port sides. Iconic Aquila features include a central walkway from the flybridge to the foredeck.
The 42 Yacht offers two, three or four cabins, but not the option of a full-beam master suite as offered on the 44 Yacht. The standard configuration includes an owner’s suite occupying most of the port hull, a lengthways VIP in the starboard hull, and a ‘utility cabin’ forward.
The saloon includes a starboard dining area
The latter can include be expanded to include a double bed and en-suite bathroom in the three-cabin option, while the four-cabin option includes two cabins sharing a bathroom in the port hull.
Jean Raas, Managing Director of Sino Eagle USA, said: “The all-new Aquila 42 Yacht ticks off all boxes that Aquila and VPLP Design were looking to achieve on a smaller model. The aft cockpit area provides an exceptional entertainment area with best-in-class water and dock access. The expansive flybridge has plenty of seating for everyone to take in the view while underway or at a favourite anchorage.
The owner’s suite in the port hull
“The interior amenities have endless storage options, and the saloon and cabins offer spectacular views. It’s a true offshore cruising yacht built to the strictest CE Category A regulations while providing exceptional performance in all conditions.”
