Azimut has launched the second unit of its Grande Trideck just weeks after the first unit of the Italian yard’s new 38m flagship was delivered at the Monaco Grand Prix in late May. The new hull is expected to cruise the Mediterranean between Italy, Greece and Turkey.
The sub-300GT Trideck features an Alberto Mancini exterior distinguished by an extended aft main deck, a ‘sea view terrace’ that covers the beach club below and provides privacy for the private patio before the saloon.
The Grande Trideck features interior design by Achille Salvagni and the new second-generation D2P (displacement-to-planing) hull developed by Pierluigi Ausonio of Studio Plana with the Azimut-Benetti R&D Department. Other features include the extensive use of carbon-fibre to laminate upper parts of the yacht and stabiliser fins from CMC Marine.
The Grande Trideck has a dual-motor option, with a pair of MTUs of 2400hp or 2600hp each. The first model under test, with 2600hp engines, recorded a top speed of 24 knots and a range of 700 miles at 19 knots and 1700 miles at 12 knots.
