The Aquila 54 is a brand-new model from the China-based builder

Simpson Marine has sold an Aquila 54 into Singapore, which is scheduled to be the first unit of the new powercat in Asia. Aquila, which builds in China, has recently completed the first hulls of its 54 and 70, the two largest models it has ever built, and is scheduled to show them in the US.

Before it has even been officially premiered, the 54 has achieved large, double-figure sales, which now include a first order from Asia. The 54ft 2in (16.5m) power catamaran has a wide beam of 25ft 2in (7.7m), creating huge social areas on the main deck and flybridge.

The model offers a huge interior linked to the cockpit by an open aft galley

The flybridge is available in an open version with a solid-glass windscreen or a completely enclosed, climate-controlled version, as featured on the order for Singapore. It can be accessed via steps from the cockpit or foredeck and features include a wet bar and aft room for toys.

Central stairs lead down to the solid foredeck, which features two large sunpads and plenty of space in the signature Aquila forward bridge. Aft, the hydraulic swim platform can be lowered to combine with the skirts to create a large swim platform by the water’s edge.

The full-beam master suite forward on the main deck is a signature option

The interior is available in multiple configurations to suit preferences. The four-cabin hull ordered in Singapore features a galley aft on the main deck that leads to a large saloon. The optional main-deck master’s cabin is a signature offering and benefits from windows forward and to the sides.
