Sanlorenzo’s Superyacht Division and Fraser have announced the sale of a Sanlorenzo 73Steel, which is the shipyard’s largest build to date and due for delivery in 2026. Bought by an existing Sanlorenzo yacht owner, the 73Steel is the ninth metal yacht sold by Sanlorenzo this year, increasing the fleet currently under construction to 23 superyachts from 44-73m.
Featuring exterior lines by Zuccon International Project, Sanlorenzo’s new 73m flagship will have a diesel-electric propulsion system aimed at minimising emissions and a “completely unconventional layout that will take the connection between interior and exterior and between man and nature to another level”, according to the shipyard.
Bernardo Zuccon said: “The design of the new 73Steel represents a fascinating new chapter in the yard’s history, not only because of its size, which is currently the largest ever built, but also because it is a testament to how strongly the company believes in the evolution and importance of a complex market such as the superyacht market.
“As designers, we’re proud to participate in this new adventure, basing our project research on the development of a design that, despite the large volumes available, is able to convey extreme dynamism, sportiness and contemporaneity.”
Sanlorenzo is participating at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show with a new 62Steel, Alchemist, and an Alloy, Sailing Grace, launched in 2021.
The 62Steel has a volume of 1,350GT and six decks including an upper deck dedicated to the exclusive use of the owner. The main deck starts with a large pool featuring a transparent floor.
The first 62Steel, Cloud 9, was premiered at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show. Four units have been sold to date, the third of which is scheduled for delivery in early 2023. The fourth unit has grown to a length of 64m and will be renamed 64Steel.
The Alloy has sold 10 units to date. Made entirely of aluminium, the 44.5m superyacht has a Bernardo Zuccon exterior. Special features include an owner’s cabin conceived as a private apartment of 147sqm and organised on three levels connected to each other, with an indoor and an outdoor area.
