Azimut Grande 26 Metri

Azimut staged the world premieres of the Grande 26 Metri and Grande 36 Metri at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, where it announced that both superyachts joined the builder’s series of Low Emission Yachts. Both new Grande superyachts feature exterior styling by Alberto Mancini and interiors by Achille Salvagni, who both worked on the shipyard’s 38m flagship Grande Trideck that debuted in 2021.

Azimut showed the Grande 26 Metri and Grande 36 Metri as part of a large display at Cannes along with the Grande Trideck, Grande 32 Metri, Grande 27 Metri, Magellano 66, Fly 78, Fly 72, Fly 60, Fly 50, Fly 53, S10, S8, S6 and Atlantis 51. The Magellano 30 Metri was also scheduled to debut at Cannes, but didn’t attend due to owner use.

The shipyard’s decade-long commitment to reducing emissions is focused on reducing weight by using more carbon-fibre, research into increasingly efficient hulls, and alternative propulsion systems. Azimut says 50 per cent of models in its full range are now Low Emission Yachts, which it defines as those with 20 per cent less emissions than the market average.

The Grande 26 Metri is the shipyard’s first model to feature the new Pod 4600 propulsion system in partnership with ZF, which combines with a 30 per cent lighter superstructure – due to the extensive use of carbon-fibre – to deliver 20 per cent lower fuel consumption than other yachts of the same size at the most frequently set speeds.

Deck2Deck™ Terrace on the Grande 26 Metri

The 86-footer has a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, four guest cabins on the lower deck, and separate flows for guests and crew, as is the case on superyachts. Its signature feature is the Deck2Deck™ Terrace, formed when the transom raises to main-deck level to expand the aft cockpit, allowing it to be used as a lounge space or a dining area with a walkaround table.

The Grande 36 Metri also joins the Low Emission Yachts series due extensive use of carbon-fibre in the superstructure and a D2P® Displacement-to-Planing hull, designed with Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture. Azimut says both factors help reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30 per cent compared to boats of the same weight and size with a traditional chine hull.

The 116-footer features an upper deck that runs on the same level from the stern to the tip of the bow and an ‘infinity sky deck’, with the glazed surfaces in the skylounge retracting to open views on three sides.

Marine Italia, which represents Azimut in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong, Taiwan and Singapore, has already sold a Grande 26 Metri scheduled to arrive in Hong Kong next year and a Magellano 30 Metri expected in the city in 2024. The dealer’s recent superyacht sales also include a Grande Trideck scheduled to arrive in Singapore in 2023.
