Bali-based Yacht Sourcing has announced that Dubai-based Omar Benkirane has become a minority shareholder. Formed in 2016 and led by co-founder Boum Senous, Yacht Sourcing is the Indonesia representative of of Fountaine Pajot sailing and power catamarans and Dufour sailing monohulls. It’s also a leader in phinisi construction, with builds including the 55m Prana and the 47m The Maj Oceanic.

Benkirane brings to the operation a wealth of professional experience, with more than 20 years of exposure to corporate and investment banking across the Middle East and Africa.

“I am really excited to help accelerate Yacht Sourcing’s growth and to develop new avenues of cooperation between the Middle East and Southeast Asia,” Benkirane said. “I see so much potential there.”

His former roles in Dubai included Regional Head of Trade & Treasury Solutions for Natixis and he spent two years in Doha as Head of Global Trade Services for Qatar National Bank.
