A Dufour 390 has been sold into Hong Kong

VP Yachts has sold a Dufour 390 into Hong Kong, soon after being appointed as the official dealer and service centre for the French sailing yacht builder. Adam Blackmore of Asiamarine introduced the buyer of the Dufour 390.

A new company, VP Yachts represents multiple brands including Dufour in Hong Kong as a partner of Shenzhen-based Omnia Marine. With a shipyard in Wong Chuk Hang, VP Yachts is also Dufour’s official technical centre for North Asia.

The Dufour 390 is the first new Dufour sold by VP Yachts

VP Yachts’ principals include Vivian Chan, who sold the Dufour 390, and experienced sailor John Tse, who has already brokered the sale of a second-hand Dufour in Hong Kong.

Tse represented Hong Kong in two Asian Games and multiple world championships in the 420 and 470 classes, and still sails regularly in local regattas.

Kevin Corfa, Dufour’s Head of Asia, said: “VP Yachts has great experience of sailing boat care and commissioning, and sales expertise, and with John Tse, they have extensive knowledge of the local regatta scene.

“Dufour represents an interesting alternative in Hong Kong for sailing fans and we are working together to bring the brand’s name up where it should be, among the leaders, as it is in its major market of Europe.
