The second edition of the Thailand Charter Week will be held in Phuket from November 16-19, kicking off the country’s high season for yachting and tourism.
The Thai Yachting Business Association (TYBA), the show’s organiser, expects a good turnout and about 20 yachts were tentatively confirmed four weeks ahead of the event. Superyachts include the 34m Xanadu (Moonen), 30m Mia Kai (Bilgin) and 28m Thai-built Maha Bhetra.
The host venue will once again be Phuket Yacht Haven Marina, which is on the island’s northeast coast and has berths for up to 320 vessels, a swimming pool, gym and restaurants.
Asia’s premier charter industry event, the Thailand Charter Week provides a ‘B2B’ platform for luxury charter yacht brokers and luxury travel agents to inspect charter yachts, experience Phuket’s famed hospitality, and network with yachting and tourism industry professionals.
Participants will be able to enjoy a programme of destination presentations, activities, and local entertainment including social events on three of the evenings. On the Wednesday (November 16), the event will start with an opening party at Yacht Haven from 5pm, with drinks, canapes and local entertainment.
On the Thursday and Friday (November 17-18), participating yachts will be on display at Yacht Haven for inspections from 10am-6pm.
On the Thursday evening, cocktails will be held at Yacht Haven’s The Deck and a closing party will be held on the Friday night at The PlayYard, just up the coast from Yacht Haven. On the Saturday (November 19), selected yachts will take a tour of nearby Phang Nga Bay.
Yacht Style and parent company Lux Inc Media are media partners of the Thailand Charter Week for a second time, while Helicam is a sponsor. More event details will be added to the TYBA website as they become available.
