Tankoa is currently producing eight superyachts, ranging from 45m-58m and all at varying stages of construction, from hull and superstructure production in an external shipyard in La Spezia to completion at the builder’s Genoa shipyard.
The shipyard’s largest builds to date were the Francesco Paszkowski-designed 69m Suerte and 72m Solo, which premiered at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2015 and 2018 respectively. From 2017 onwards, it has delivered five units of the 50m Paszkowski-designed S501 series, most recently Grey this May.
The shipyard’s next launch is the first T450 designed by Giorgio Cassetta, which could splash towards the end of this year, with the model’s second unit set to follow in 2025.
The 45m design also led to the sale earlier this year of the first TX450 explorer version, with delivery set for 2025. Inspired by the T450, the TX450 has developed into a full-custom project from bottom up, with Cassetta responsible for both the exterior and interior design.
Claudio Corvino, Tankoa’s Sales and Business Development Manager, said: “The TX450 was developed around the idea of exploring the world in comfort and Cassetta up came with a very balanced design that we define as a crossover style, matching perfectly the proportions of an explorer with the elegant touch typical of all Tankoa yachts.
“The yacht was really designed in cooperation with her discerning owner, who has been involved in all the details of the exterior and interior design from day one.”
As the main deck includes the master stateroom and four guest cabins, the social areas are focused on the upper and bridge decks. There’s also a gym, spa area and a convertible room that can increase the number of guest cabins to six. There are exterior social areas on all decks and two pools, one at sea level in the stern flanked by two opening side platforms.
Tankoa builds scheduled to launch in 2024 include the sixth hull of the S501, as well as the first T55 Sportiva designed by Luca Dini, with the model’s second unit set to splash in 2025 along with the Vitruvius 52 by Philippe Briand.
Tankoa’s largest current build is the T580 Custom, billed as a ‘worldwide explorer’ and due to launch in 2024, after the steel hull and aluminium superstructure arrived at the Genoa shipyard this February. Paszkowski designed the exterior and collaborated with Margherita Casprini on the interior of a yacht designed for long voyages, with a range of over 5,000nm.
Eva Orsi, President of Tankoa, said: “Our first 58m is the result of years of collaboration between the Paszkowski studio and Tankoa. I’m proud of this project, which represents an evolution of the owner’s previous 50m yacht.
“The T580 Custom’s timeless profile, combined with some cutting-edge solutions, is the result of teamwork that involved the client, the designer and the shipyard, delivering a yacht that is the best combination of elegance and functionality.”
Distinguishing features include a helideck at the bow and a large beach club with a folding terrace and spa with massage room. The beach club can be accessed from the lower-deck guest cabins via a long panoramic corridor and through the engine room. A large garage can house two tenders including a 9m limo tender, while a gym and swimming pool are on the top deck.
