Sunseeker and US dealer OneWater Yacht Group staged the world premiere of the Ocean 182 at the Newport International Boat Show. Hull one of the model, which is the enclosed-flybridge version of the Ocean 90, has since continued a US tour that includes exhibiting at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from October 25-29.
Named after its gross tonnage, the Ocean 182 offers 2,060sqft of interior space spanning three decks. It’s also the first Sunseeker model to features its sole helm station in the skylounge of the upper deck, while the main deck has an infinity layout, with an enormous saloon leading to the galley and dining area forward.
The yacht is offered with either twin 1,650hp or 1,900hp MAN V12 engines, which offer a top speed of 27 knots and an extended range of 1,100nm at a displacement speed of 12 knots.
Sean Robertson, Sales & Marketing Director at Sunseeker International and President at Sunseeker USA Sales, said: “The Sunseeker Ocean 182 introduces a new dimension of space within the Sunseeker range. Her impressive 7m beam offers an incredible interior space and three interior decks, with an option for alfresco dining on the upper deck, for the ultimate owner experience. We are proud to launch this exceptional new yacht with our US distributor, OneWater Yacht Group.”
The 6m by 4m aft platform can include an optional barbecue grill and Sonos speakers. The hydraulic bathing platform with retractable sea-stair has a lifting capacity of 750kg and can store a tender and jet-ski.
Sunseeker’s patented X-Tend™ sunbed system can be raised to reveal storage for water toys, racking for towels or diving equipment. The system’s outer panel can be folded out and down to offer a sofa in the beach club, or the whole ‘open’ system can be raised to form an extension of the aft cockpit, which has loose furniture complemented by refrigeration and an ice maker.
The foredeck has a wide sofa, a large sunpad forward and mirror chaise longues on the port and starboard side, as well as fridge drawers, cupholders, marine speakers, mood lighting and a sail canopy.
On the main deck, the 671sqft interior has floor-to-ceiling sliding doors on the starboard side and matching windows on the port side. Forward of the spiral staircase with minimalist stair treads is a semi-open galley with a pantograph door to the port side deck, Miele appliances and an option to include additional refrigeration and a 34-bottle wine cooler. On the starboard side is a generous dining table for eight guests and a bar forward.
The upper deck has retractable sliding doors that can close to create a third indoor living space or be left open to form an alfresco balcony. The helm station sits by an L-shaped bar with refrigeration, ice maker and wash basin. Further aft, on the starboard side is C-shaped seating, to port is a fixed TV unit with storage, while the open aft deck can be dressed with loose furniture.
In a standard configuration, the lower deck includes three double cabins and a twin, all with en-suite bathrooms. The interior, curated in collaboration with Design Unlimited, is characterised by soft neutral tones, textured materials, recessed ambient mood lighting, stainless-steel trim detailing and feature bulkheads.
Bryan Braley, President at OneWater Yacht Group, said: “The interior space on board this exceptional yacht is groundbreaking and the response we had at Newport was overwhelmingly positive. We’re excited to continue the Sunseeker Ocean 182’s launch tour of North America at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show at the end of October.”
