Sunseeker International will showcase its ‘Famous Five’ new models for 2021 at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival from September 7-12. In May, the British builder staged an online premiere of the Manhattan 55, Predator 55 EVO™, 65 Sport Yacht, 88 Yacht and 90 Ocean, and the ‘Famous Five’ will form part of an eight-yacht Sunseeker display at Vieux Port in Cannes.
The other three models on display will be the Manhattan 68 that premiered in 2020, 74 Sport Yacht and 76 Yacht.
Sean Robertson, Sales and Marketing Director at Sunseeker International, said: “We are excited to be able to showcase eight spectacular yachts at Cannes this year, one of the first international boat shows to re-open its doors after a year of uncertainty. We are grateful to the event organiser for ensuring a safe and enjoyable event for guests and visitors.”
The Manhattan 55 was the cover story of Yacht Style Issue 58 and subject of an exclusive Review, as the first of the ‘Famous Five’ models to be sold to Asia. The yacht has a top speed of over 30 knots with new Volvo Penta D13-800 engines.
The Predator 55 EVO™ had its physical world premiere at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March and complements the Predator 60 EVO™ that launched in late 2019. The new yacht features state-of-the-art Hydro-Pack technology that utilises a fly-by-wire steering system for agility and has a top speed of 32 knots with twin Volvo Penta D11-725 engines on shafts.
The 65 Sport Yacht is distinguished by its optional supercar-style SkyHelm™, which features twin bolstered seats set very low on either side of a central console. The instrumentation is courtesy of a state-of-the-art glass bridge plotter complete with retro chrome dials housing LED displays.
There’s also a fully-carbon steering arm that the driver can raise to ease entry into the racing-cockpit design or keep locked in a raised position for helming while standing. Both helm seats can pivot aft for socialising, while the windscreen can also tilt up and down.
The 88 Yacht, which is Reviewed in Yacht Style Issue 60, is one of Sunseeker’s first two models to offer the brand’s new X-TEND™ transom seating system, which can fold down to offer a large sunpad in the Beach Club or be raised and face forward into the cockpit.
Inside, the 88 Yacht features a new level of interior styling and detailing on a superyacht scale, with an extended saloon and dining area, as well as the galley placed forward next to the helm station – a first for Sunseeker. The four lower-deck cabins include a stunning forward VIP suite with its own lobby, private stairway and hallway, as well as a walk-in dressing room.
However, the 90 Ocean – which also offers the X-TEND™ system – is likely to be the biggest star of the Sunseeker display with a completely new hull design, a 23ft 6in beam and a massive volume compared to similar-length yachts.
The foredeck can be transformed into an open-air cinema, equipped with a laser projector and 140-inch screen. She accommodates eight guests in three doubles and a twin, or up to 10 guests in a customised configuration. The 90 Ocean has a range of 1,800nm at 12 knots and a top speed of 26 knots.
Sunseeker’s current portfolio comprises 21 models in six ranges: Superyacht (50M Ocean, 42M Ocean, 131, 116), Yacht (100, 95, 90 Ocean, 88, 86, 76), Sport Yacht (74, 74XPS, 65), Predator (74, 74XPS, 60 EVO™, 55 EVO™, 50), Manhattan (68, 55, 52) and Performance (Hawk 38).
