More than 130 guests, partners and speakers attended the second edition of the Experiential Yachting Forum, which was held over two days during the Dubai International Boat Show following last year’s inaugural one-day edition in Monaco. Maria Alekseenko Magan, the founder of Experiential Yachting, said: “This forum was created with a mission to elevate human potential through yachting and to change the perception of yachting by identifying a new niche for ‘Multifunctional Superyachts’ and introduce the concept of ‘Holistic Yachting’ for healthier yachting operations and lifestyle.”

Experiential Yachting introduced the concept of Multifunctional Superyachts, luxury yachts used as extending platforms for businesses and institutions, creating innovative connections with new and established audiences, stimulating renewed interest leading to growth. A platform to augment and strengthen established brands with newly relevant connections and to offer a wide range of features and multi-use facilities.

Experiential Yachting introduced the new concept of Holistic Yachting, an approach to yachting operations that combines elements of longevity, preventive healthcare, integrated healing, eco-responsible technologies, cross-professional crew hiring, innovation and social impact.

The exclusive partnership between AERA.Health and Experiential Yachting was announced. This partnership aims to provide the industry with essential solutions related to Longevity and Preventive Healthcare on yachts. AERA.Health and Experiential Yachting proposes concrete projects and packages to transform or upgrade the yacht with appropriate integrated equipment/services and experiences for healthier lifestyle onboard.

Eventually they also proposed more advanced option when the yacht can be used as a professional health retreat or a floating holistic health centre for a rehabilitation / integrated healing or when the owner or guests would like to receive more advanced treatments on board.

The event included the unveiling of results of a Neuroscientific experiment conducted last year, when Experiential Yachting in collaboration with Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting initiated the research on how the rolling of sea waves affects brain waves during meditation aboard a small watercraft at sea (jet-ski) compared to the same meditation on land when stationary.

Julian Amengual, PhD in Neuroscience and Data Scientist specialised in computational electrophysiology, and Patrick Cosson, MD, PhD in Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience and Neurochemistry, analysed the data gathered with 23 volunteers and 3 pilot participants.

“In conclusion, we show clear evidence of the higher behavioural benefits and enhancement of physiological correlates of well-being after performing meditation at the sea compared to meditation performed on land,” Amengual said. “We truly believe these results open a novel venue to conceive holistic experiences in the yachting from which the users could be highly benefited.”
