Saxdor producing new flagship

Saxdor is staging the world premiere of its flagship 400 GTO at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival (September 12-17), where it will also display a 320 GTO and 270 GTO in Vieux Port along with a 205 at the Palais.

“The Cannes Yachting Festival represents a significant milestone for Saxdor Yachts as we unveil our new flagship, the Saxdor 400 GTO,” said Sakari Mattila, who founded the company in 2019, having formerly created Axopar and other yacht brands.

“We’re proud to showcase our brand’s evolution and look forward to sharing the Saxdor experience with the global boating community,” added Mattila, also the company’s Chief Designer.

Having built over 1,000 boats, Saxdor is preparing to unveil its largest model to date, which develops on the brand’s focus on “performance, design and exceptional value”. Built on an elongated twin-stepped hull fitted with twin engines, the 400 GTO is expected to deliver outstanding performance, while weight is reduced by vacuum infusion, so improving fuel efficiency.

A new glass transom increases sea views from the cockpit and connectivity to the water, while balconies on either side of the cockpit significantly increase usable deck space and create a ‘private island’ experience at anchor.

Fitted furniture starts aft with an island sunpad, with the forward end doubling as a forward-facing sofa that’s part of seating on all four sides of the central table. The twin-seat helm station is to starboard and there’s an outdoor galley to port, where a single side deck leads to a foredeck featuring U-shaped seating and a table.

The lower deck accommodates a spacious forward double cabin, separate bathroom, and the option for a kids’ cabin and midships double cabin.
