Despite the challenges of Covid-19, Sanlorenzo Asia has started 2020 in spectacular fashion by securing five orders – all destined for Hong Kong – by May. Sales include the second sale into Asia of a 44Alloy, a model scheduled to debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The others comprise an SL102Asymmetric, an SX76 crossover yacht and SL78 and SL86 planing yachts.
Sanlorenzo’s shipyards in Italy recently resumed production and are embarking an intense season of launches and deliveries, and builder stated that the recent sales in Asia ‘demonstrate the importance and dynamism of this market, one of the most active and demanding on a worldwide level’.
Sanlorenzo Asia, formed in 2015 by Sanlorenzo in cooperation with regional partner Simpson Marine, also recently opened a flagship office in Singapore, designed by Lissoni Associati.
Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia’s Sales Manager, said: “It has been a turbulent year for almost everyone, so we are grateful for our continued success in Asia. Hong Kong has been a shining star with the sale of many distinctive Sanlorenzo yachts from across the range. It’s wonderful to see owners enjoying their yachts in local waters during this time.
“Sanlorenzo is becoming a dominant force in Asia and we are delighted with our new Southeast Asia flagship office in Singapore. We are confident that when borders reopen, we will see the same growth in this area. This year will mark a record number of Sanlorenzo deliveries in Asia and several yachts are already under construction for the spring and summer 2021.”
