Siam Land Flying has launched the Grand Opening of its upcoming Private Jet Terminal in Phuket, which will be fully operational in early 2022. Situated just north of Phuket International Airport in Mai Kao in the north of the island, the private jet facility aims to drive more high-end tourism including superyacht owners to Thailand’s biggest island, announced Asia Pacific Superyachts.
As well as Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew, VIPs at the Grand Opening included Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Health; Prapas Kong-ied, Director General Treasury Department; Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, President of Airport Authority of Thailand Public Company; and Soopakij Chearavanont, Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group).
A subsidiary of Charoen Pokphand Group, Siam Land Flying provides private jet charter service and air ambulance service across Southeast Asia through its Executive Wings and Medical Wings divisions, respectively.
Kachorn Chiaravanont, Executive Vice Chairman of Siam Land Flying, said: “The opening of the Private Jet Terminal of Siam Land Flying Phuket is another major milestone for the company’s business operation as it sees the continuous growing trend of private jet business, particularly during the pandemic situation. The private jet business has gained more popularity as it offers privacy among VIP tourists who emphasise convenience and service standards as their top priorities.”
Siam Land Flying stated that it hopes the Private Jet Terminal will draw more tourists with high purchasing power and generate revenue and spending in the country, as well as creating new jobs for local people.
The Private Jet Terminal includes hangar and apron space to provide parking, with capacity for ultra large-sized private jets such as the Boeing Business Jet and Airbus Corporate Jet, and up to seven Gulfstream G650s. The terminal building features VIP lounges and all services required for international and domestic travel including immigration, customs and disease control services.
Greg Martin, CEO of Siam Land Flying, said: “The Private Jet Terminal of Siam Land Flying Phuket is fully equipped to provide a premium service for our VIP guests in a discreet and safe manner. Our comprehensive services and world-class facilities cement Siam Land Flying’s determination to enhance the very first experience among our guests once they reach Thailand.
“We have made significant investments in fully electric ground-support equipment including aircraft tow tugs, ground power units and support vehicles at the Siam Land Private Jet Terminal. This helps achieve our sustainability goals as most other facilities around the world use diesel powered equipment.”
Siam Land Flying aircraft engineers can provide maintenance, while other services include shuttle service, hotel reservation and co-ordination, tourism and recreation consultancy, and VIP lounges for departing and arriving passengers as well as crew.
