The 77m SeaXplorer La Datcha has left the Damen Yachting yard in the Netherlands to embark on a global charter itinerary.
Part of the La Datcha Tinkoff Collection, the luxury expedition yacht is offering charter opportunities from heliskiing in Kamchatka to dive adventures off Papua New Guinea. The first purpose-built expedition yacht with a fixed itinerary and commercial goal, the 2,560GT build has an Ice Class, IMO Polar Code-compliant hull.
The owner’s vision for La Datcha is for charter guests to “set out on the journey of a lifetime to places others can’t reach – exclusive adventures to share with friends and family in total comfort, style and safety”.
The 252-footer offers accommodation for 12 guests, 24 crew and a captain, and will be available for charter through Edmiston.
Rose Damen, Managing Director of Damen Yachting, said: “The interest in La Datcha has been phenomenal. She’s a real head-turner with a unique proposition and is not afraid to stand out from the crowd.
“In a year that has challenged us all with Covid, new working measures and travel restrictions, it is incredible to see La Datcha head off on the adventures she was built to achieve. That is down to the dedication of everyone involved in this project from our own teams at our yards, to our co-makers and the owner’s teams. We are looking forward to following her adventures as she heads off to explore the world’s far-reaching destinations.”
The build of La Datcha was managed by Fraser and overseen by owner’s representative Stefano Feltrin, CEO of La Datcha Tinkoff Collection.
“The owner’s team is thrilled to take delivery of La Datcha and start her journey, which commenced on the drawing board years ago and will continue in some of the most remote and beautiful places on earth,” Feltrin said.
“The great result represented by the La Datcha yacht has been achieved thanks to the relentless efforts of many talented people that joined forces to make this happen. We felt at home in the Netherlands and at Damen Yachting’s shipyard, and we are very proud and excited to sail on such a magnificent yacht.”
La Datcha’s range and autonomy – up to 40 days – provide the capability to cruise to remote areas without major infrastructure or large populations, where very few yachts have travelled but which present rugged environments offering adventure and spectacular wildlife.
Guests will also be treated to the comfort of custom superyacht interiors by designer Vasiliy Sphrits, responsible for the interiors of Tinkoff Collection properties.
