Azimut-Benetti Group has topped the Global Order Book for 24m-plus superyachts for the 23rd straight year. The Italian company is the leader among 189 shipyards, both in number of projects under construction (168, up from 128) and total length (5,991m) of its projects.
Founded by Paolo Vitelli and led by his daughter Giovanna, Azimut-Benetti’s President, the family-owned company recorded a production value of more than €1.2 billion for the year and extended its order book into 2027.
Over the next three years, Azimut-Benetti plans to invest €130 million in R&D in the development of new products, cutting-edge technologies and sustainability, with a growing focus on reducing fuel consumption and emissions by combining innovative propulsion systems including hybrid and electric, increasingly efficient hulls and extensive use of carbon-fibre to reduce weight.
Italy’s Sanlorenzo remains in second place, increasing its projects from 117 to 128 with a total length of 4,577m. Italy’s Ferretti Group continues to not be included in the list, which is why only 19 of the ‘top 20’ are shown in the table.
Taiwan’s Ocean Alexander remains third after increasing its superyachts projects from 47 to 73 with a total length of 2,382m, while fellow Kaohsiung builder Horizon is in 11th place.
Dutch megayacht builder Feadship is in fourth place, ahead of British builders Princess and Sunseeker. Germany’s Lurssen is seventh, ahead of The Italian Sea Group, whose brands include Admiral, Tecnomar and Perini Navi. Damen Yachting of the Netherlands and Italy’s Overmarine Group round out the top 10.
