Fairline debuts Squadron 58

Fairline unveiled the all-new Squadron 58 on the opening day of the 10-day Southampton International Boat Show (September 15-24). Its display also includes the flagship Squadron 68 flybridge motor yacht, the Targa 45 Open and Targa 45 GT cruisers, and the F//Line 33, the brand’s fastest yacht.

The British builder is also displaying a small-scale model of the Targa 40, a model that will debut at Boot Dusseldorf in January. The company said it had already received almost 50 combined orders for the Squadron 58 and Targa 40, with factory availability for the majority of Fairline models now stretching to early 2025.

James Powell, Fairline’s Sales Director, said: “In a British manufacturing first for yachts under 80ft, the Squadron 58 offers power-down beach club balconies on both sides. This creates an outdoor living space equal to an 80ft yacht, which gives owners the feeling of something far larger but with the ownership and running costs of a yacht under 60ft.

“This configuration lends itself to how our customers use their boat at anchor, with the market really being driven by outdoor space as much as accommodation, and the Squadron 58 exemplifies that.

“The Squadron 58 demonstrates the latest in Fairline’s cutting-edge design, offering flexible and modular seating in the large cockpit complemented with a glass transom to enhance the connection to the water with unhindered views with the main deck boasting an almost 360-degree view of the surroundings.”

Aside from the large, hydraulically powered balconies on both sides, other Squadron 58 highlights include an innovative bathing platform that can be used to store a tender of up to 3.3m and can remotely extend, doubling in length, allowing plenty of space for sun loungers. Teamed with the large cockpit, the Squadron 58 has over 30sqm of aft outdoor space.

The yacht also offers flexible modular seating in the cockpit, complemented by a glass transom to enhance the connection to the water and expand views of the seascape. The beach club includes a cockpit bar and powered side window to port, moveable cockpit bar stools and integrated audio system, while the triple-fin styling detail into the aft superstructure recalls past Squadrons.

The flybridge features a spacious sun pad aft, wet bar, plenty of seating, a hard top with sunroof and wrap-around glazing, while the foredeck has a sofa, table and large sunpad. In another first for Fairline, the saloon is entered by an angled door, has an aft galley to port and a forward lounge with a C-shaped sofa and a table to port facing a double sofa to starboard.

The interior has been designed with sociability in mind, featuring an almost 360-degree view, while the neutral interior scheme first seen on the flagship Squadron 68 offers an elegant, muted palette featuring taupe, white and cream colourways.

The lower deck has a master cabin midships with a king-sized bed, bureau with stool and drawer storage to starboard, and a large sofa to port, while the starboard guest cabin shares the forward VIP cabin’s en-suite bathroom. At the stern, clients can add a twin crew cabin, which is accessed through a door in the transom, while engine options are twin Volvo D13-900 or D13-1000 shaft-drive engines.
