CL Yachts expects to launch its flagship CLX96 in November, well ahead of the model’s scheduled world premiere at the 2022 Miami Yacht Show from February 16-20. With painting on the pilothouse and flybridge now complete, the team is moving its attention to the main deck and hull paintwork before the yacht is launched and undergoes sea trials.
Inside, the main saloon’s unique bleached-teak deck flooring has been installed, allowing the galley cabinetry to be put in situ. The master, VIP and two guest staterooms have been fitted with fabrics, natural wood tones and Corian.
Milan-based Jozeph Forakis is responsible for the concept and exterior and interior design of the RINA-certified CLX96, while Americans Earl Alfaro and Albert Horsmon handled naval architecture and structural engineering respectively.
Martin Lo, Director of CL Yachts, said: “It’s all coming together on CLX96 and it will be beautiful when the yacht is completed. The realisation of the designer’s vision is on track, and we are extremely proud of what is being achieved with our very first SAV.
“Throughout the significant challenges of the last 18 months, the team has rallied together and found a pathway to building our most complex and exciting yacht to date. I am looking forward to showing the world the first of our remarkable crossover yachts.”
CLX96 recently won the Concept Under 40 Metres category at the 2021 edition of the International Yacht & Aviation Awards, having been a winner at the 2020 Good Design Awards and earned a Bronze in the Yacht and Marine Vessels Design Category of the 2020-21 A’Design Award & Competition.
