Sunreef has a booth in Hall 7a entitled ‘Superyacht Show’, where the Polish catamaran builder is presenting updates on its range including the upcoming 55 Open Sunreef Power, Sunreef Hydrogen 80 and the Sunreef 43M Eco, the shipyard’s biggest sailing catamaran to date.
Among French builders, Jeanneau is exhibiting 13 motorboats and five sailboats. Motorboats include the world premiere of the DB/37, the smaller sister of the DB/43 that debuted at Cannes, while sailing models include the global debut of the Jeanneau Yachts 55, which complements the new 60 and 65 but features a radically different cockpit.
Beneteau’s motorboats include its flagship Grand Trawler 62, new Swift Trawler 48, Gran Turismo 46 and Gran Turismo 36, while its sailing boats are spearheaded by the Oceanis Yacht 60, First 44 and First 36, all released last year. Other sailing yachts include the First 53, First 27 and five Oceanis models (30.1, 34.1, 40.1, 46.1, 51.1).
Fellow Groupe Beneteau brands include Prestige, which is displaying its new M48 power catamaran and X60 – which both debuted last year – as well as a 520S, while a Lagoon 46 sailing catamaran is also in the Boot line-up. In Hall 16, Nautor Swan is staging the global debut of the Swan 48 MKII and German premiere of the Swan 55, while showcasing the 42ft Swan Shadow motor yacht in Hall 5.
Boot Dusseldorf’s 16 halls cover superyachts, motor yachts, luxury dayboats or ‘superboats’, sailboats, engines, equipment and accessories, as well as surf sports, diving, paddling, other watersports and travel exhibitors.
New for 2023 is the Blue Innovation Dock, a ‘new platform for sustainability and transformation’ that has a different topic on each of the nine days. (Click here for interview with Boot Director Petros Michelidakis.)
From the opening Saturday, these comprise: Leaders dialogue – business meets politics; Sustainable propulsion; Financing innovation and start-up disruption; Future fuels; Circular materials; Sustainable nautical tourism and water sports; Innovation for sustainability;
Engaging NGOs and all players; and Engaging citizens and boaters. Held in Hall 10 and free for all show visitors, the forum has strong support from the yachting industry, with Groupe Beneteau as Performance Partner, Sanlorenzo as Project Partner, and Pool Partners including Azimut, Bavaria, Brunswick, D-Marin, ePropulsion, Fabiani, Greenline, Princess, Sunreef and Torqeedo.
Petros Michelidakis, Director of Boot Dusseldorf, said: “We are the world’s largest watersports trade fair and therefore very suitable as a platform. We have both B2C and B2B visitors and all major boatbuilders and shipyards are here.
“The whole cross-section of topics will be addressed. Do e-fuels make sense? How suitable is hydrogen as a fuel? How can marinas be digitalised faster? Can we involve water sportspeople to protect endangered regions? How will we be boating in 30 years from now? Now is the time to chart the course for the future.”
