As it celebrates its 150th anniversary, the Italian superyacht builder has released the design for a 40m B.Yond Limited Edition ‘Voyager’ model.

Benetti has designed the B.Yond Limited Edition, a five-deck, 40m model only available until mid-2024. The B.Yond range began with the 37M (click for article) launched last year and the Limited Edition design also features naval architecture by Pierluigi Ausonio’s firm, P.L.A.N.A.

The hull features an elegant metallic colour called Vulcan Grey and is embellished with a distinctive black shield, while a refined golden waterline graces the boat from stern to bow. The gilded, backlit Benetti logo adorns the sides of the upper deck, while other special features include glass railings with teak handrails.

Like the B.Yond 37M, the Limited Edition can be fitted with the E-Mode Hybrid propulsion system, which was developed with Siemens Energy and optimises onboard energy consumption. The system offers four operating modes including Full Electric, a zero-emission option that allows the yacht to enter protected, ecologically sensitive areas typically off-limits to motor yachts with diesel engines.

While cruising at nine knots in Eco Transfer mode (with the two generators off and only one internal combustion propulsion engine in operation), the Limited Edition has a range of 8,200 miles, almost double that of similarly sized navettas. Based on an average annual use of 1,000 hours (400 underway and the rest at anchor), fuel consumption and CO2 can be reduced by up to 24 per cent and NOx by up to 85 per cent.

The five-deck B.Yond Limited Edition starts with an aft platform that can be expanded by a fold-out transom door, while the interior ‘beach club’ can be dedicated to a spa, beauty area or extra storage for water toys, depending on the owner’s preferences. The aft half of the main deck is dominated by a full-beam garage that can accommodate a 6.5m tender, rescue boat and two jet-skis.

The symmetrical stairs either side of the transom door lead to an 8sqm glass-bottom infinity pool and two facing U-shaped sofas and coffee tables. A couple of steps lead to the aft upper deck, which has a forward-facing sofa on each side and loose furniture, while side passageways lead to the foredeck, which can be fitted with an island sunpad and chairs.

The interior includes a lounge aft and a dining area forward, plus central stairs that lead down to the four guest cabins and forward full-beam master suite on the main deck. The bridge deck has an outdoor aft area with sunbeds, a lounge with an enclosed Hamptons-style veranda, the helm station and control cabin.

The sun deck contains a bar and a comfortable outdoor dining area with a table, all shaded by the hard top, plus an additional sunbathing area.

The lower deck is reserved for crew and includes a large galley, crew mess, five cabins and a utility room that can be used as a gym, en-suite cabin or a wellness area with steam bath and/or sauna. The service area includes a storeroom that can be fitted with a dry storage area and a cold store, uncommon features for a yacht this size.

Two internal stairways, one for guests and one for crew, provide separate flows that ensure total privacy for both owner and guests.
