Azimut has launched both its Grande 26M and Grande 36M models ahead of their official world premiere at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival from September 6-11. Both models feature exterior design by Alberto Mancini and interior design by Achille Salvagni.
Inspired by the flagship Grande Trideck launched in 2021, the Grande 26M features a sea view terrace that’s created by raising the stern hatch so it becomes an extension of the cockpit. Convertible furniture allows it to be changed into an alfresco living area or an open-air dining zone with a walkaround table for access on all four sides and clear sea views.
The main deck includes a saloon and dining area plus an owner’s suite with floor-to-ceiling, while the lower deck has four guest cabins and crew quarters in the bow.
On the Grande 36M, Azimut introduces a semi-walkaround, single-level upper deck that spans almost the full length of the main deck, described by the yard as a ‘never-before-seen feature’. The central sky lounge has sliding glass doors, while the exterior has an all-glass hot tub and sundeck.
Both new models feature extensive use of carbon-fibre and vinyl ester resin that reduce the superstructure weight by 30 per cent, lowering the power and fuel required. The Grande 26M is powered by a new Pod drive system which with the lighter structure, lowers fuel consumption by 20 per cent compared to traditional boats of similar dimensions, according to Azimut.
The Grande 36M has a new evolution of the D2P® (Displacement to Planing) hull designed by Pierluigi Ausonio and the Azimut-Benetti R&D department, following an earlier version on the Trideck. The hull’s wave piercer reduces consumption, with peaks in efficiency of up to 40 per cent at displacement speed compared to traditional hard chine hulls.
