Alva Yachts, the Germany-based manufacturer of electric yachts, has signed contracts with a range of dealers from across the world including North America and parts of Europe, the Middle East and Oceania.
Based in Bad Pyrmont, Alva was co-founded in early 2020 by Mathias May (Managing Director) and yacht designer Holger Henn (CEO), and built on the former PICA yachts, which launched more than 40 boats.
“We are very proud to announce our global network and look forward to further grow as a company with the new gained partners all over the world,” May said.
Yacht Sales International (YSI) will be the exclusive distributor for North America and has purchased the first Ocean Eco 60 as their demonstration yacht, which will be used in boat shows and for promoting the brand across the USA. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, YSI has a second Florida office in Cape Coral, and additional offices in Annapolis and Chicago.
Udo Willersinn, YSI’s founder and CEO, said: “With over five years’ experience of educating customers and marketing efforts, we have a large customer base of electric/hybrid enthusiasts. Alva Yachts brings a logical progression in size/range capabilities from our current electric/hybrid offerings. The shallow cruising waters in South Florida, as well as the Caribbean and Bahamas makes catamarans an attractive solution.”
Queensland-based Sunpower Yachts Australia is the dealer for Australia and, due to its office network, also for New Zealand, Cyprus and the Ukraine. MBC Yachts from Dubai covers UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, while Arctic Cruise in Norway (ACIN) will be the distributor for Norway and dealer in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic area.
Alva Yachts is currently in talks with potential distributors for Asia region, which the company describes as “a key market, as there’s high interest by customers for sustainable and luxurious yachting”.
