Wally premieres wallywhy150

Wally staged the world premiere of the all-new wallywhy150 on the opening day of the fourth Venice Boat Show (Salone Nautico Venezia). Sporting a raised pilothouse design, the wallywhy150 was created by the experienced Wally-Ferretti Group Engineering team, with Studio Vallicelli Design responsible for interior design.

Following the design language of the 89ft, 200GT wallywhy200 (click for Review), which debuted at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, the wallywhy200 offers 150GT of interior volume on a 79ft yacht that will exhibit at this year’s Cannes show from September 7-12. The wallywhy150 can reach 21 knots with three Volvo Penta IPS1200 engines or 23 knots with three IPS1350 engines.

Stefano de Vivo, Wally’s Managing Director, said: “Our goal was to anticipate market demands developing a yacht capable, once again, of being ahead of its time, starting from those innovative features that made the wallywhy200 successful.

“With its 24m length and 150GT of volume, the wallywhy150 is a flexible yacht, ideal for experienced owners who fully understand and appreciate the skilful use of space, the considerable living areas and its unmistakable personality.

“For nearly 30 years, Wally has been designing and building cutting-edge yachts, which have led to epochal changes in yacht design and we’re sure the wallywhy150 will also be able to establish itself on the most diverse international markets.”

The wallywhy150’s exterior areas are “unmatched for her size”, Wally states. The aft deck offers a large, high-low platform that includes a hydraulic multipurpose ladder and can house a wide range of water toys including a 3.9m (12ft 8in) tender.

Luca Bassani, Wally’s founder and Chief Designer, said: “The simplicity and accessibility of the layout make it appealing to a huge range of clients. It offers the ultimate flexible platform for those looking to expand the horizon of traditional planing-craft usage. This is the first vessel with direct access to the sea at cockpit level with no stairs necessary; it’s effectively a floating loft on the water.”

On the main deck, floor-to-ceiling glass ensures lots of light indoors, while the forward master suite – as on the wallywhy200 – offers 270-degree ‘amphitheatre’ views due to an unusually high bow. Guest accommodation on the lower deck can comprise VIP, double cabin and twin cabins, or two VIP suites.

Most of the upper deck is open, with a large lounging area aft, while much of the forward part –

including an alfresco dining area – is covered by a hard top.
