The first Fountaine Pajot Aura 51 in Korea has been delivered to an owner who bought his first sailing catamaran, having owned a 49ft sailing monohull and a 27ft motor boat. The Aura 51 (click for Review) was sold by local dealer HBS Yachts and will primarily be used around Busan and Seoul.
Kevin Corfa, Head of Fountaine Pajot in Asia, said: “Fountaine Pajot catamarans are highly desirable and the owner chose the Aura 51 because of its design and performance, as well as the dealer’s expertise and reliability. This stunning catamaran is a leader in its class and can be propelled by an integrated electric system developed in-house.”
Corfa also revealed that the owner was determined to buy an Aura 51, even though the yacht’s length over 50ft requires a different cruising permit and more complicated paperwork.
“The owner went the extra mile because he really wanted an Aura 51 and it was a great achievement from our dealer in Korea,” Corfa said. “This one will sail Korean waters and shine the spotlight on catamarans as an alternative for boaters in the area.”
Another design for Fountaine Pajot by Berret-Racoupeau, the Aura 51 debuted last year and spearheaded a new generation of eco-friendly models from the La Rochelle builder, featuring the option of integrated solar panels on the coachroof and flybridge. A Smart Electric version made its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
