Wider has revealed details of the Wilder 60, with hull one scheduled to launch in the summer. Designed by the company’s the in-house Centro Stile Wider (Wider Style Centre), the Wilder 60 is designed to be an “all-aluminium thrill machine”, a hybrid of a chase boat and performance cruiser, with a top speed of 40 knots.
The Italian shipyard says it will use its superyacht-building expertise to ensure each hull of the Wilder 60 is a one-off, bespoke build.
Marcello Maggi, President of W-Fin Sarl, the holding company that owns 100 per cent of Wider equity, said: “We all have a wild side and the Wilder 60 is the wild side of Wider. The Wilder 60 is more than just a boat; it is a bespoke statement of intent for secret escapes or wild weekends, a celebration of life and a conduit for fun.
“Tailor-made and turned with artisanal excellence, it embodies the exceptional nature of superyachting and offers exceptional experiences for its owners. It represents another ground-breaking step forward by Wider, which has always sought to challenge the status quo with sometimes radical but always forward-thinking designs and solutions.”
Wider has chosen an aluminium hull to ensure seaworthiness in all conditions, while the shallow 1.05m draft means the yacht can come close to shore. Catering to the luxury day boat market, the design features an open aft deck with a central sunpad, al fresco dining covered by a hard top, and side-deck steps to the foredeck, which features sunpads and a sofa.
The shipyard’s current projects include the WiderCat 92 power catamaran at its facility in Fano and the 72m Moonflower in build at its superyacht hub in Venice. Both are equipped with Wider’s serial hybrid propulsion system.
